About
Katie Baker grew up in Pittsburgh PA and is currently based in Columbus OH. At twenty, she married her high school sweetheart and over the last eighteen years, she has followed him from coast to coast with his Navy career while also raising their three sons. In her thirties she was diagnosed with ADHD. She has a deep interest in understanding the psychology of the brain. These experiences of lost and found communities, as well as the day-to-day highs and lows of motherhood have had a profound impact on her artwork. Katie uses painting and charcoal to explore these ideas. She is completing her associates of studio art from Columbus State Community College with plans of continuing her education at Ohio State University. She is planning to major in art with a minor in psychology and eventually receive a master’s in art therapy.
